Shortcode to check BECE School Placement

In the past, students could send their index number to the shortcode 1060 to check their CSSPS School Placement. However, that method does not work any longer, you might waste your credit when you try it.

    CSSPS placement checker

Checking of your CSSPS Ghana results has over the years become an easier task.

Now, the candidates are able to check their results at the comfort of their homes. Not only that, you can check your results regardless of where you are in the world at that moment using your computer.

    The Ghana Education Service has given different ways in which you can check your CSSPS placement results. They have outlined two methods of checking your WAEC Ghana placement;

    1. You can check your results online using a computer.

    2. You can check using Google Chrome Browser on your mobile phone.

How to check BECE Placement Online on a mobile phone or PC

    In order for you to check your CSSPS placement online, follow the steps below;

The first step is to ensure you have the placement checker, which we will be selling when it is available.

    • Ensure that you have access to a computer that has Internet access.
    • Using your computer, visit the CSSPS result checker online portal
    • Proceed to enter your BECE index number. It should be 10 digits. And also your year of examination. For example, if your index number is 1234567890 and the year of your examination is 2024, this is what you will input: 123456789020
    • On your checker, you will get a serial number. Enter the serial number found on top the scratch card in the field designated for it.
    • Enter your PIN (Personal Identification Number) that will also be found on the scratch card you had purchased.
    • After you are done, you then click submit. Be patient and wait for the results window to pop up.
    • If you are successful, the CSSPS placement checker print form option will appear. Click on print to print out your form.

The process is not, however, completely fault-proof.

You might experience some problems when going through this process.

The most common problem is when you submit your details but the system seems not to recognize your details. So when messages like this pop up “Sorry the Index Number, Scratch Card Number/PIN Number does not exist. Please look carefully and retype.

Do not panic you will get the placement form eventually. Try again using the same scratch card. Do not be tempted to buy another scratch card because the fault is not on the scratch card.

Some of the reasons you might be experiencing challenges printing your admission forms include:

    • Large number: When a lot of people are checking their results on the website, it slows down. Therefore, you shouldn’t panic but just be patient.
    • Withheld results: You might also experience challenges if your results were received later than others. If the results are withheld, you can get them later so keep checking until you have them.

    Why check JHS placement early?

There are several reasons as to why you should try and be the early bird when checking the placement results.

    • You get to know early the school you have been posted to This will help you plan ahead. Planning ahead is very important because you may have been placed in a school that is far from your home and you will now have to go early and give them your placement form as you get the requirements for joining the school.
    • What if the school you have been placed in is not to your liking or does not offer the course you want? It is important to know early on if the school they have picked for you is the one you want and if it is not, you can start finding alternative options before it is too late.
    • What if you feel that they were unfair in the placement late on? This is a very disheartening situation. Checking early will ensure that you are ready for whatever outcome and that you will be able to sort those issues early on.

  • BECE Self Placement 2024/2025: Steps to do Self Placement into SHS

BECE Self Placement 2024/2025: Steps to do Self Placement into SHS

The Computerized School Selection & Placement System aims to place BECE candidates who have chosen schools into their choice of Senior High Schools.

Whenever school placements are released, some unfortunate students have to go through a manual process to place themselves in vacant schools.

How the Computerized School Selection & Placement System (CSSPS) Works

The CSSPS works based on data collected from JHS students who have registered for the BECE. The students are allowed to choose 5 different schools that they will like to be placed in.

The Schools are grouped based on categories that have been set by the Ghana Education Service (GES). This is to enable an even distribution of choices and to give “smaller schools” the chance to be selected.

Once the system has this data (selection of schools), the system now uses the BECE results of the candidates to place them.

This is done by using the candidate’s aggregate score from 6 subjects for the selection process. These subjects are the 4 Core
(English Language, Mathematics Social Studies, Integrated Science) and the best two elective subjects.

Students are then automatically placed in an SHS on merit, based on their aggregate results, the programmes they chose, vacancies in the chosen SHS, and availability of boarding facilities for those who chose it.

However, oftentimes, some students are not placed at all and this leads to the need for them to do self-placement.

What is Self Placement by CSSPS?

The CSSPS Self Placement Module is a manual method by which BECE Graduates who could not be automatically placed in any of the Senior High Schools of their choice get to choose a school of their own.

Self Placement is very easy and fast once you have the right steps to follow. In this article, we have detailed all steps that all qualified Junior High School (JHS) students who didn’t get any of their 5 chosen schools should follow to get a school.

    Who qualifies for self Placement?

Only Students who could not be placed automatically by the CSSPS can take part in the self placement process.

  • Is it possible to upgrade WASSCE results?

Is it possible to upgrade WASSCE results?

The West African Senior School Certificate Examination, or WASSCE, is administered annually by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to students in their final year of high school. It determines how well they performed academically over the course of their four years of secondary education, and what level of university they will be eligible to attend.

After WAEC released the results of the exams, most students who are not able to meet their goals in terms of grades began to look for all sort of ways to improve their grades. We have heard various stories about results upgrading, results changing and more by WAEC workers and so-called people with connections at the WAEC office.

But the question is, is those circulated WASSCE results upgrade real? If it is not real, then how can you improve your WASSCE results? Read along if you want to know the answers for these questions.

    What is the WASSCE

The West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is a standardized exam administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to students in participating West African countries. The WASSCE is designed to assess academic achievement and promote learning across a range of topics, such as mathematics, English language, physics, chemistry, economics, etc.

The exam is typically taken by students who are completing their secondary education, usually in their 4th year. It is widely recognized as a qualifying exam for further educational and professional opportunities in the region.

    What do the grades mean?

When it comes to WASSCE (West African Secondary School Certificate Examination) results, there are several different grades that can be awarded to signify different levels of performance. A grade of A1 signifies an exceptional performance, while a grade of D7 downwards indicates a below-average performance.

Is it possible to upgrade my WASSCE results?

It is not possible to upgrade WASSCE results. Once the exam has been taken and marked, the results cannot be changed. Therefore, it is important for students to prepare adequately for the WASSCE so they can get the best possible score they can achieve.

However, there are a few circumstances in which a student can apply for a review or appeal of their WASSCE results. This is usually done in cases where a student believes that the results were calculated incorrectly or if the student feels they were unfairly treated during the exam period. If a review is successful, the student’s grade could potentially be improved.

It is important to note that the review process is not always successful and that WASSCE results are not easily upgradeable. That said, if you believe your results do not accurately reflect your level of performance, you may want to consider applying for a review with the assistance of your institution you wrote the exams at.

How to improve your WASSCE results

    Results upgrade is not real. Desist from any results upgrade adverts on social media before you get yourself ripped. You can’t upgrade but you can improve. If you want to improve your WASSCE results, you can choose any of the methods below;

    Write NovDec

The most popular method of changing WASSCE results used by most people is by rewriting the failed papers again through NOVDEC. The November, December exams by WAEC help students who failed to re-register and work on bettering their grades.

Applying to WAEC for a remark

In some cases, it may just be an issue of miscalculation. If you believe your results do not accurately reflect your level of performance, you may want to consider applying for a review with the assistance of the institution you wrote the exams at.

    Going back to Secondary School

It is possible to go back to school again to re-prepare yourself and sit for the exams. Most private secondary schools openly accept students who failed in their WASSCE exams and wants a second chance. They accept you and prepare you for your next hurdle and make sure you pass them well. But, if you don’t study hard, note that, you will fail again so its best you study hard this time around.

    WAEC grading system analysis

WAEC uses figures 1 to 9 to represent grades. 1 represents A1 (Excellent) which means a candidate will have to score at least 75 out of 100 to fall in this grade. A score of 70 to 74 is B2, which is interpreted as, “very good” while a score that falls between 65 to 69 is B3 (Good). A score between 50 to 64 falls under credit represented by C4, C5, and C6. A score of 49 downwards is the red zone which leads you to fail and that represents D7, E8 and F9.

    Conclusion

WASSCE results upgrade is fake. Don’t fall victim. WAEC will never advertise on social media for any results upgrade. The only way for you when you fail your WASSCE exams is to sit, learn and rewrite the exams through the methods explained above.
