Reasons why the 2021 BECE Results & Placement are delaying

It’s the last week of February 2021 and the results for 2021 BECE candidates have still not been released. This means that the placements, which are usually after the results have been released are also delayed.

Usually, results are expected to roll in 45 days after the end of the examinations; but in recent years, this has become more and more unlikely.

Parents, Candidates as well as teachers are looking forward to the results. In this article, we look at the reasons why the 2021 BECE and subsequently the CSSPS Placements for the 2021 candidates have been delayed.

Reasons why the 2021 BECE Results & Placement

Late re-opening date for SHS 1 Students for 2022/2023 academic year

SHS 1 students will resume on the 4th of April 2022 as per the timetable released by the Ghana Education Service. This means that there is still more than 2 months for Students and Parents to prepare for school. Therefore, WAEC is not under so much “Pressure” to release the results.

As a result, parents can still have the opportunity to prepare for school should the results and placements even be released in early March of this year.

Timing of BECE Exams and Nov/Dec examinations

Due to the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on the general academic calendar, most of the exams conducted by WAEC tend to be written close to each other.

This means that there is more pressure on those marking (BECE has the most candidates). Last year, the BECE and WASSCE Private (NOV/DEC) were written so close to each other.

Also, the same system is used for uploading and releasing results so the workers at WAEC evidently have more to handle, hence the delay.

    BECE 2021 Release Date

The most important information right now is that the marking of BECE Results is now completed.

So when will the 2021 BECE Results be out? Reliable sources indicate that the 2021 BECE Results is expected to be out from 1st March 2022 to 5th March 2022. All BECE Candidates will then be able to check their results on the WAEC eResults Portal.

This is because, the official checking site, eresults.waecgh.org has already included 2021 in the years one can check the BECE results, giving the indication that the results will soon be uploaded to be checked.

BECE candidates, therefore, have to prepare by buying their checker cards now, to prevent shortages and pressure when the results are finally released. You can buy the eresults checker (for checking BECE 2021 results) by visiting Results Checker Ghana.

  • Vodafone Kasatenten: How to Enjoy Free Call After the 1st Minute

Vodafone Kasatenten: How to Enjoy Free Call After the 1st Minute

Vodafone has in these past years proved to care for their customers by providing several offers for them. Some of these offers range from data offers, SMS offers, and other voice packages and now Kasatenten.

As a result of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, most people are now at home and use more data and call credits. Most of the people use them to work from home and also call their friends and loved ones.

Many telecommunication networks have introduced several packages as a relief for their customers in this COVID-19 pandemic era.

In view of this, Vodafone Ghana has also introduced the Vodafone Kasatenten offer to help its customers who use the call service to enjoy free calls after the first minute of their regular calls. They just need to pay for the first minute and the rest is free.

     What is Vodafone Kasatenten?

The Vodafone Kasatenten offer which literally translates “talk for long” is a call package which was introduced recently by Vodafone, that allows subscribed customers to talk to their relatives and loved ones throughout the day; whether day or night.

The only requirement is to pay for the first minute and enjoy the remaining minutes for free.

After you register for the Kasatenten offer, the cost of the first minute for each call you make is GH¢ 0.30 (30 pesewas) after which you enjoy the rest for free.

When you make on-net calls (calls to Vodafone numbers), you enjoy up to a maximum of an hour (60 minutes) worth of free call credit. Meaning, you will be allowed to talk to a Vodafone customer for a maximum of 60 minutes when you register for the offer and the preceding minutes will be charged from your primary mobile credit at normal charges.

Also, when you make off-net calls (calls to other networks), you enjoy up to 5 minutes worth of free call credit after paying for the first minute. Likewise, with the off-net calls also, any other minute after the 5 minutes will be charged at normal call rates.

How to Subscribe to the Vodafone Kasatenten Offer and Enjoy Free Call After The First Minute

The subscription process is a four (4) stage process. The steps are:

    • Dial *135#
    • Select “Activate Kasatenten” (option 1)
    • Press “1” to confirm
    • A confirmation screen be shown and a confirmation SMS will be sent to you via SMS

Now let’s take each step one after the other and explain briefly.

    Dial *135#

As with all mobile packages/offers, you need a shortcode or USSD to activate it and with the Kasatenten package, the shortcode is *135#.

Regardless of your mobile phone type, you can dial the short code *135# and send.

    What Are The Limitations?

As the famous Chinese “yin-yang” symbol portrays, there’s no good without a bit of bad in it. Likewise, the Vodafone Kasa Tenten offer has its own limitations.

When you subscribe for the Kasa Tenten offer, you cannot subscribe to any other bundle hence, cannot enjoy the benefits of other bundles.

But, you can subscribe to the Kasatenten Offer and still activate data, SMS and IDD packages without any interruptions.

    Who is eligible for Kasatenten?

The Kasatenten offer is available to all new and old customers of Vodafone. Therefore, if you are not on Vodafone but interested in the Kasatenten Offer, you can visit any Vodafone office, outlet or vendor nationwide with a valid National ID to buy a new sim card and enjoy this offer.

    Conclusion

The introduction of the Vodafone Kasatenten is not the first of its kind in Ghana though, but it’s the first time Vodafone is bringing such offer onboard. It replicates MTN’s Nkomode Offer.

Considering the cost of call credits nowadays, the introduction of this offer is a good one, as it’s going to reduce the burden on other networks. The only concern people have raised is the fact that the period for the off-net calls is shorter and should be extended.

We’re all waiting for a response from Vodafone Ghana but until then, we have to enjoy what we have at the moment.

  • Dropshipping in Ghana: Should you start this business?

Dropshipping in Ghana: Should you start this business?

If you are on this page right now reading this article, that means you’ve probably heard of Dropshipping business. If not, then its time to have a glimpse of what the term Dropshipping means.

In the 21st century, a lot of business ideas came into being and these ideas have makes millions of cedis for most of the people who took their chances. Nowadays, most people prefer to buy products online than in the supermarket.

Every household today feels safe and convenient when buying items online and because of that, there has been an increase in the demand for retail online shops.

Most businesses shift their operation to the virtual but lack enough products to help them carry their online activities effectively which they end up sourcing most for their products from wholesale stores online acting as third parties to those stores.

This was how the Dropshiping business idea came into existence.

    What is Dropshiping?

Dropshiping is a form of eCommerce business operation, where individual source their products from a third party and sell them at a profit margin.

This Dropshipping store owner does not own the items that he or she sells on the online store but rather took the product from a wholesale vendor.

The job of the drop shipper is to serve as an agent between the original seller of the product and the prospective customers.

Operating a Dropshiping business is simple. You’ll need to spend a couple of cedis for creating an online store/sales funnel.

This online store is where you will publish the products and drive traffic for prospective buyers to come and buy.

Previously, a lot of people in Ghana didn’t know of this method of making money online, due to that people like myself who have prior knowledge about Dropshiping made some decent amount of money using this system.

Today, the dropshipping business is well known to the large general public and new entrants are always eager to have the share of the market.

How Does the Dropshipping Business Works?

The Dropshipping business is a form of supply chain method in which the owner of the store does not have the inventories at stock but intend to pick the products from the wholesaler and make it available for the customer for the purchase.

The whole process of Dropshiping is operating this way:

A drop shipper picks the products from a wholesalers store (Aliexpress), he/she then creates a store and place the products on a store or another wholesale store (Amazon or eBay) at a retail price.

He then drives traffic to the products page for a customer to come and buy at the retail price.

Once the products are bought from the Dropshiping store, the owner of the store then goes to the original seller of that product and purchases the product at a wholesale price using his customer’s details.

The original seller of the product will then ship the product to the customer. As a dropshipper, you may end up not seeing the product. You only sell the product at a profit margin.
