The Infinix Hot 8 presented on the Ghanaian market comes in two variants:

1. The 4G Hot 8 with 2GB Ram and 32GB of storage and
2. The 3G Hot 8 Lite with 2GB Ram and 32GB of storage

Features of the Infinix Hot 8

Design and Display

The Hot 8 phone features share the likeness of most different budget smartphones. Infinix Mobility has given it a sleek look and also the spherical edges increase the texture of the device.

Things you should know about Infinix Hot 8

The Infinix Hot 8 was available for retail on the Ghanaian Market on Tuesday, 1st October 2019. The device, which has fast captured the hearts of many due to its affordable pricing and wonderful features has been a big hit on the Ghanaian Smartphone scene with 6000 pieces sold on the day of release.

According to major retailers in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi, they are currently facing shortages of both the Hot 8 and the Hot 8 lite.

The 4G variant of the Hot 8 retails at GHS 569 while the 3G enabled Hot 8 Lite goes for GHS 499.

Multiple consumers on the Infinix Ghana facebook and twitter pages have even offered to pay more to get the device. Retailers have also had lots of customers walk in asking for the Hot 8 and looking to pay more.

According to an Infinix Ghana spokesperson, Infinix is committed to keeping the price low and new stock of the Hot 8 will be available on Monday and Infinix lovers can get their hands on it.

The Infinix Hot 8 and Hot 8 lite were launched at the Infinix Invasion concert as an upgrade over the Infinix Hot 7. The concert which was headlined by popular Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.

It hasn’t been long since Infinix released the Hot 7 but new leaks surfacing online show that the new Infinix Hot 8 is already baked and ready to be served.

According to 91Mobiles, they have seen a couple of retail box images of the Infinix Hot 8 already and believe it will be launched in India later this month.

The leaked image already gives out some information about the phone. Apart from the fact that the front display is going to sport a teardrop notch, it is also quite visible that at least one variant of the Infinix Hot 8 will have a 64GB storage space capacity and 4GB of Ram.

Other specifications of the phone are currently unknown but it is expected that the phone will be considered ahead of the Infinix Hot 7 in overall specs and performance.

As for price, it is speculated that it will be somewhere in the GHS 1000 range.

Features of the Infinix S4

Design and Display

Looking at the front of the phone, the full view 6.2-inch Full HD+ display with the waterdrop notch is at once noticeable. A closer look at the front also reveals the camera embedded inside the notch.

Looking behind the phone, the glossy look is evident with the camera sensors and fingerprint sensors taking their place at the top right corner rear and just above the Infinix logo on the S4.

Just like most Infinix phones nowadays, the S4 has the power and volume adjustment buttons on the right-hand side.

One new thing about the Infinix Hot S4 is the new version of Infinix Mobile’s XOS it came with – XOS 5 Cheetah.

It is the first time we have seen the XOS 5 Cheetah in action and today, we take a look at the OS and how the future looks for other Infinix devices.

The new XOS User Interface, although unique, still has the familiar Infinix XOS feel and look. So it won’t be that difficult to know you are holding an Infinix phone, and that’s by no means a bad thing.

Video Chats with AI

We all love video calls nowadays, with our smartphones enabling us to now seamlessly connect via Video and faster network connections making these connections fluid. With WhatsApp, Telegram, Skype etc, smartphone users now make video calls more than ever.

The real problem with video calls is that there are usually no filters and the other party sees your image just as it is. For people who use filters a lot, this is usually undesirable and something which will prevent them from even having video calls.

XOS 5 Cheetah tackles this issue by incorporating AI Beauty mode in video calls. Now, when you make video calls, you can easily look younger, brighter and fresher.

New AI Read Mode

For those who find reading difficult, then the new XOS 5 is just what should make ready a little less stressful on the eye. XOS 5 has an inbuilt artificial intelligence powered read mode.

There is a new icon pack in XOS 5 that provides a refreshing, beautiful and elegant look at the OS. The design of the new icons makes it more attractive. For the customisation freaks, maybe you should enjoy this icon pack for a while and see if you would love it.

However, not all app icons are supported although a lot of the popular apps have been covered.

XOS 5 Cheetah Intelligent Voice Notifications

In the era of Assistants, XOS 5 Cheetah brings users voice notifications. You can now set an assistant to broadcast you’re the weather forecast, schedules, calls and messages and social media notifications. Basically, all the messages you care about read out loud to you.

I find it very heartbreaking running to unlock my phone when I hear the notification tone only to find its nothing important, and I am not alone. These intelligent voice notifications are a great addition. They are currently available in English, French and Hindi languages.

Intelligent notification management

There are those notifications that we never open but always swipe away one by one to reduce the clutter. However, the new XOS Cheetah has used some machine learning to know exactly what notifications you don’t want to see often and stack them away.

The intelligent notification management in XOS 5 Cheetah recognizes and sorts spam or undesired message notifications and groups them into a single category that can be blocked.

Smart Photo cleanup

Most people now use smartphones to take photos of precious memories with friends and family. We tend to take a lot of pics just so we choose a few good ones. Some tend to be overexposed, dark, blurry and identical. XOS 5 Cheetah categorizes photos into the dark, blurry and similar pics to enable you to delete and keep only the best versions of your memories. This is a great way to save the much-needed space on your phone.

Smart Panel

The new XOS bring a Smart Panel which has all your favourite & frequently-used features and localization services. You can access the smart panel from any screen. You can take a selfie from a smart panel within just 2 steps enabling you to capture all the beautiful moments.

There are lots of other things you can do with the Smart Panel like Scan and Pay. It is basically a tool that has the most used features, making them available on any screen in a few taps.

Data switcher

XOS 5 Cheetah has introduced a data switcher toggle in the quick setting menu. This will enable you to easily switch the SIM card you want to use for data connections without digging up the feature in settings. Many people use multiple lines depending on who is giving more data at a particular time. In case you need to switch, it doesn’t have to be painful anymore with XOS 5.

Privacy Protection

You might be thinking. What if there are lots of creepy apps that might be listening to your conversations by recording them? Well, the new XOS will help you curb the paranoia. When an app is using the microphone and you are not aware, XOS 5.0 will notify you with a pop-up message “XXX App is recording”, thus making sure you are in control of all recording processes. Fingerprint password reset

With XOS 5.0 comes the fingerprint password rest option which solves the password amnesia problem. In the unfortunate event where you forget the password or PIN of your Infinix phone, you will now have the option to reset it using the fingerprint.

The below steps you are going to see are what I and most of my tech guys use to determine the originality of every Infinix smartphone we come in contact with. So without wasting any time let’s begin.

To determine whether the Infinix phone you are to buy or using is original or fake you will need three things from that phone:

1. The IMEI number
2. VC of the phone
3. Battery serial number.

You can check the IMEI of every smartphone by going to Settings >> About Phone >> Status >> IMEI information and you will get it. Or you can dial *#06#, which is a universal code for checking IMEI.

The VC number can be found beneath the battery or on the battery.

The battery serial number can also be seen on the unit (the battery) itself.

Once you have these three things then you are now ready, to begin with, your checkup.

Steps To Follow:

First of all, make sure you have an internet connection and then open your web browser either on your smartphone or a laptop. Once your browser is open, type in the URL (http://gc.infinixmobility.com/) in the address box of your browser.

Once you are on the site, you will be required to enter the IMEI, the VC and the serial number of the phone you want to check.

Now enter the required information and then click on the submit button.

Now the information about the phone will be shown to you (a message will appear telling you whether the Infinix phone/battery you’ve tested is fake or original). From here you can tell whether the phone is original or replica. That’s all…

Anytime you want to buy a new Infinix smartphone you can follow the above steps to check its originality before purchasing. You can also follow this same process to check if the battery you are buying is original or fake.

Features of the Infinix Hot 7

Design and Display

The Infinix Hot 7 maintains the trendy slim bezel design like the Hot 6 series. The design is compact so it feels firm in the hands when held. This phone is, however, one for people on a budget hence the plastic design of the outer.

The screen has the 18:9 aspect ratio with the very visible notch at the top. The screen to body ratio is thin, hence providing a large area of the screen to feed the eyes.

At the back of the phone, the camera setup with the dual flashlight is quite visible. The rear camera and flashlight are arranged at the top left section of the phone with the fingerprint sensor placed a few millimetres away to the right of the dual flashlight.

Battery

One of the areas, the Infinix Hot 7 impresses is the battery capacity which is not really an over the top capacity but is enough for extensive usage on the device. The 4,000 mAh battery fitted in the Hot 7is efficient and comes with quick charging to get the phone powered up in no time.

Camera

Rather than go the way of the Hot 6 to bring dual cameras to the Hot 7, Infinix put up a single 13 MP Camera with an autofocus Dual flash light at the rear of the phone.

The front of the Hot 7 sports an 8 megapixel FF Camera with flash light. Enough to brighten up most of the selfies you will be taking on a budget phone.

Performance

Welcome back, MediaTek Processors. The Hot 7 comes with the MediaTek MT6580P chipset. The CPU is a quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 type with a maximum CPU Frequency of 1.3GHz.

One of the good things about Infinix Mobility’s Hot 7 is the price at which it comes. The 2GB/32GB Variant comes at less than GHS 530. It currently sells at a lower price than the Hot 6 series.

Shop diligently and you could even get it lower at some retail shops here in Ghana.

If you are looking for a decent phone. want to stay in style and are uninterested in 4G, the Hot 7 is a good buy for you.

If you are patient enough, you can wait for the Infinix Hot S4 which is rumoured to go on sale in April 2019.
