The Automatic renewal or auto-renewal feature is purposely provided by network service providers to enable subscribers to get their data packages renewed as soon as they reach the end of their validity.

While rollover or automatic renewal enables you to keep the remaining of your existing data while adding a newer volume and extending your expiry date, this may not be ideal for everyone.

For most people, unfortunately, they are unable to buy airtime on their phones regularly and that makes it difficult for the auto-renewals to go through most times.

Even when they go through, they go a long way to drain the airtime wallets of such subscribers.

For this reason, some people may want to deactivate the automatic renewal option for their data packages.

In this article, we shall look at the steps involved in deactivating the auto-renewal function on your MTN Data bundles.

Deactivating MTN Ghana Data Bundles

To deactivate the automatic renewal of all MTN Ghana data packages aside from the fibre broadband and Turbonet data packages, just text ‘Stop’ to 138.

The MTN Turbonet data packages do not expire anymore, hence making it unnecessary for automatic renewals to be made available. MTN Ghana has, therefore, removed the auto-renewal service from the Turbonet USSD Menu.

Conclusion:

With this method, you can deactivate automatic renewals for the following MTN Data packages: MTN Special offers, Midnight bundles, Daily bundles, weekly bundles, monthly bundles, kokrooko bundles, MTN Basic Packages, social media bundles and video bundles.

This method will only work if only you have already subscribed to any of the data bundles listed above. If you have not subscribed to any of them, please do not try the deactivation. Also, if you do not have any problems with the automatic renewal, you should not attempt this method since trying it may make you lose existing data upon its expiry.

Fraudsters nowadays have been finding new ways of stealing from MTN subscribers, what they mostly tell you is that they are calling from MTN office and then will continue with their usual tricks.

There have been cases on which subscribers have been complaining about how MTN staff will be calling them asking them to turn off their phone for some time because there is ongoing maintenance.

Some fraudsters will also call to tell you that you have won a prize on their ongoing promotion and he or she is calling you to guide you on steps to follow in order to receive your gift.

What you need to be aware of is that MTN Ghana will only call you with 0244300000 to either give information or to discuss an issue with you.

When does MTN make such calls?

They mostly call you when you win a promotion or you have reported a problem and they are calling to help you out or ask you to give them feedback of the problem you are facing using their network.

I remember asking MTN customer care on Twitter on how I can change the name on my sim card as my sim card was already registered when I bought it, I then received a reply from them and the person was asking for my number to further assist me.

3. You can press 4 for more options

4. To get data, you can select the “request a data advance” option

5. Select your preferred data bundle

6. Press 1 to confirm

You should receive your data or airtime afterwards.

Who Is Eligible For MTN Xtratime

Just as any other credit facility in the world, one needs to satisfy certain laid down conditions in order to be able to borrow airtime from MTN Ghana.

1. The sim card must be a prepaid card
2. Your main account balance shouldn’t be more than 4 cedis at the time of the request.
3. Your sim card must be properly registered
4. You must have recharged your line at least every month in the past 6 months.
5. You must have a certain volume of average airtime usage in a month.

If you satisfy all the above conditions, then you are qualified for the MTN Xtratime service.

Meanwhile, it is important for you to know that MTN reserves the right to indicate if you are qualified or not.

If you are a regular airtime user, you could get an advance of up to 10 Ghana cedía worth of airtime from MTN.

Also, if you use data often, you can get 300MB and above data advance from MTN Ghana, using this service.

But once you reach your limit, you can’t get the data advance either.

MTN Ghana can never call any customer with a private number or any other network’s number.

Your MTN MOMO Balance Should Be Equal To What’s In The SMS

Anytime you receive money from anywhere via MTN mobile money, your new balance should be the sum of your previous balance and the new amount received. This figure should be the same as what you see in the SMS notification received.

That’s to say, if you had 512.00 GHS in your account and you received 300GHS from someone, the available balance in your SMS notification should be 812.00 GHS. And when you check your mobile money balance via *170#, you should also get 812.00 GHS.

If the amount in your SMS notification differs from what you see in your account balance, you have just been saved from some hungry scammers.

Do not give your password to anyone you do not trust. Do not transfer any money to anyone who calls you, indicating they have wrongly sent you some money until you can confirm that it’s true.

MTN Ghana has designed a beautiful service for all workers to enjoy a great pension by contributing regularly for a period of 5 years or more.

With the My Own Pension scheme, users determine how much they wish to contribute and the frequency of the payment as well.
