To register for a business account, you need to follow the steps below:

1. Dial *5051# on your mobile phone
2. Select ‘Register’ from the list which pops up
3. Select your region of residence
4. Wait for a moment to receive an SMS confirming your registration. A reference number will be included in the SMS.
5. An MTN Mobile Money agent will be assigned to inspect your location
6. After successfully passing the inspection phase, you’ll need to download and fill the Merchant Recruitment form, the Merchant Account Holder Form and the Merchant Agreement form.

It should take roughly 3 days for it to be ready in most cases.

8. Wait for a while. You’ll receive a payment confirmation request.
9. Enter your Mobile Money PIN.

How To Activate MTN Contact Backup Through Customercare

If you are unable to use the SIM menu for the activation, you can as well contact the MTN customer care for assistance on activating the service on your line.

Kindly follow the steps below:

1. Dial 100 on the MTN line you want to activate the service on
2. Select your prefered language
3. Press ‘5’ to speak to a customer care agent
4. Hold for a while and explain to them what you want.
5. You’ll be helped to get it activated.

After successfully, activating your MTN mobile contacts backup, you’ll keep receiving text messages anytime you add a new contact to your phonebook. MTN will automatically update your backup list and notify you via SMS.

4. Select the device you wish to recover your contacts on. Make sure that the device you select matches with the exact phone you’re using now.
5. Click on ‘Sync now’ and you’ll receive a message indicating that the server is about performing synchronization.
6. Click on ‘continue’ to start the whole process.
7. When the recovery is complete, you’ll receive a message signalling that the process is done.
8. Finally, you’ll receive a text message informing you that your contacts have been restored.
