    Who Can Join MTN Pulse and MashUp?

    MTN PULSE is for young prepaid customers on MTN and other networks. The official documentation for MTN Pulse does not give a specific age range. It is safe to assume that “Young” here could also refer to the Young at heart.

    The Shortcode for MTN MashUp in Ghana is *567#. To activate, just dial *567# on your MTN Mobile and follow the prompts. You will receive a confirmation message from MTN (567) when your subscription is successful.

    How to deactivate or stop your MTN Pulse (MTN MashUp) Subscription

    Although the MTN Pulse service is great for a lot of users on the network, some people might choose to opt out.

    To stop enjoying all the wonderful services of MTN MashUp, just send STOP to “567”. You will again receive another message letting you know you have unsubscribed from the service.

    Proceed with caution. Almost all users have reported delays in transactions involving Move, you may want to check out Mobile Money Interoperability which allows you to send money between networks in Ghana. The company seems to be out of service with no way of contacting them.

    Send money from your Mobile Money account to another mobile money account? It’s possible!

    Somewhere in October 2016, when MOVE was about to launch, I saw the service as one that had a lot of prospects. I have personally used MOVE for more than 6 months now and I will recommend it to everyone. It is worth knowing that as at the time of writing this post, there have been over 20,000 MOVE transactions across networks already.

    So what exactly does MOVE do or more importantly, what is it?

    About MOVE!

    This is a service that helps you to move money from your mobile money wallet into another mobile money wallet on any network. Apart from this, MOVE also has other unique features that are much needed in today’s mobile industry.

    Main Features of MOVE

    Send Money to All Mobile money wallets

    The service allows you to send money from your mobile money wallet to any other mobile money wallet. For Instance, an MTN User can send Money from MTN Mobile Money to Tigo Cash, MTN Mobile Money to Vodafone Cash and MTN Mobile Money to Airtel Money. A Tigo User, on the other hand, can send Money from Tigo Cash to MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone Cash or Airtel Money. Same applies to Vodafone cash users and Airtel Money Users.

    Buy Airtime

    MOVE allows users on any network on Ghana to buy airtime. Airtime can be bought for the user (buy for self), or bought for another user.     MTN aYo, Send with Care: Insurance from MTN

    MTN aYo is an insurance scheme by aYo and MTN. With aYo Send with Care, you can get insurance cover for the money you send to loved ones using MTN Mobile Money. To use this service, Dial *170# and choose to Send your money with Care.

    What is MTN aYo?

    aYo Send with Care promises to keep sending money to your loved ones, even when you can’t. If you add aYo Send with Care cover to the money you send home via MTN Mobile Money, aYo will triple the amounts you’ve sent over the last 4 months, and pay it to your beneficiaries over the next 12 months on receipt of a valid claim.

    Benefits of MTN aYo

    Cover:

    By sending money through “Send with Care” you will be purchasing cover valid for 120 days, every time you send money to a beneficiary (either an individual person or to a school for school fees).

    Cover for money sent to individuals through MTN Mobile Money:

    If you send money to a beneficiary using Send with Care and then pass away or spend at least 1 night in hospital because of a physical injury caused by a trauma event, the accumulated cover will be paid into your beneficiary’s MTN Mobile Money Account.

    Cover for your school fees paid through MTN Mobile Money:

    If you pay your school fees through Send with Care and then pass away or spend at least 1 night in hospital because of a physical injury caused by a trauma event, your accumulated cover will be paid into the School’s MTN Mobile Money Account for your children’s school fees.

    Receive bonus value:

    By using Send with Care you will receive bonus value (MyBonus). MyBonus becomes available to you once it reaches a specified threshold and you can choose to have it cashed out into your MTN Mobile Money account.

    Claims made easy:

    Claims can be done directly from your cell phone. Your beneficiary or MyCaretaker (trusted person) can claim on your behalf in the event that you are unable to do so.

    MTN aYo Cost or Premium

    aYo Send with Care only costs a small portion of the money you send home via MTN Mobile Money. Pay just 5% (This amount is deducted from your MTN Mobile Money balance) of the amount you send, for example:

    • If you send GHS50, the cost for Send with Care will be GHS2.50
    • If you send GHS400, the cost for Send with Care will be GHS20
    • If you send GHS900, the cost for Send with Care will be GHS45

    It’s an affordable way for you to share the care and make sure your family is looked after.

    About your aYo Caretaker

    This is a person you trust. MyCaretaker can claim on your behalf when you are unable to do so. MyCaretaker can ensure that your beneficiaries receive the Send with Care proceeds due to them in the event of you being in hospital for at least one night because of a physical injury caused by a trauma event, or if you pass away.

    You will need the following information to enter their details:

    • First name,
    • Last name,
    • Cell phone number and
    • Date of birth.

    Follow the “MyCaretaker” option in the Send with Care section in the MTN Mobile Money USSD menu.

    Bonuses

    Earn MyBonus value each time you Send with Care. The value of MyBonus builds up to a specific value, at which point you can cash it out to your MTN Mobile Money account.

    Conclusion

    MTN aYo Send with Care promises to keep sending money to your loved ones, even when you can’t. Add aYo Send with Care cover to the money you send home via MTN Mobile Money, and MTN aYo will triple the amounts you’ve sent over the last 4 months, and pay it out to your beneficiaries (the recipients of your payments) in 12 equal monthly payments should anything happen to you. Life cover will be paid out in the unfortunate event that you pass away, and hospital cover will be paid out if you have to spend one night or more in hospital due to an accident. Note: this cover is for accidents specifically and does not cover illness.

    MTN Mobile Money registration is quick and easy if you follow the right steps. With statistics showing that Ghana’s e-commerce is largely dominated by Mobile Money transactions, it is only fair and wise that we are all registered for it. Follow these simple six steps (if you don’t already have a well registered MTN Sim Card) for your MTN Mobile Money Registration in Ghana.

    Remember you need to have a valid National ID Card, Driver’s License, Passport or Voter’s ID Card to be able to correctly register.

    How to Register for MTN Mobile Money

    1. With a valid photo ID card (Voter ID, Drivers’ License, Passport) go to the nearest MTN Mobile Money Authorised Merchant.
    2. The Merchant captures your personal details and gives you a Mobile Money SIM card.
    3. Insert your Mobile Money SIM in your phone. You will receive an SMS asking you to register.
    4. Go to “My MTN” on your mobile phone and select “Mobile Money”.
    5. Select “Register” and enter your photo ID type and number.
    6. Select and repeat Mobile Money PIN (4 digits).
    7. You will receive a welcome message on your phone.

    You need to keep your MTN Pin Safely so that no one else can access your MTN Mobile Money Wallet.
