    Huawei Y7p Features

The HUAWEI Y7p offers a rear AI triple-camera setup that includes a 48MP main camera with an f/1.8 wide-aperture lens for capturing frame-worthy moments in true, native high resolution, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera supporting the 120-degree field of view for scenic landscape shots.

Others are group photos and wide-angle video capture, and a 2MP depth assists camera for simulating realistic shallow depth-of-field effects that are a staple of any breath-taking portraits.

Equipped with a large 1/2-inch sensor, the HUAWEI Y7p also excels in low light scenarios, producing clear, low noise images that are rich with colours and details whether the user is shooting in broad daylight or at night. Night Mode also makes a return, supporting stabilization for handheld shots taken with up to a six-second exposure for easy detail-packed low-light shots.

Upon detecting that the user is shooting with backlight, the camera will turn on HDR Mode, which can combine three frames taken in quick succession to create a stunning photo that has a higher dynamic range.

Like many other Huawei smartphones, HUAWEI Y7p also features AI Scene Recognition, enabling the rear cameras to recognise over 500 scenes and apply the real-time custom enhancement to turn works of novices into masterpieces. Additionally, 480fps video capture enables users to capture slow-motion videos that playback at 1/16 normal speed.

Embedded underneath the Punch FullView display, is a powerful 8MP front camera that supports Huawei’s camera AI algorithms. Portrait Mode1 produces gorgeous photos and selfies by applying custom optimisations based on a subject’s face while retaining the details on their faces.

Additionally, the front camera supports HDR Mode for stunning selfies in a high dynamic range. The front camera uses AI Scene Recognition which enables it to recognise up to eight scenes including blue sky, plants, night scene, and more, optimizing the settings required for the perfect shot.

Also, the front camera supports Face Unlock 2.0 for speedy device unlock.

Trendy Design with a 6.39’’ Punch Fullview Display

Designed to be a showstopper, the HUAWEI Y7p is equipped with a gorgeous Punch FullView Display. Measuring at 6.39 inches diagonally and with thin bezels, the 19.5:9 display supports an HD resolution of 1560×720 for displaying fine details with vivid clarity.

At the top left corner is one of the industry’s smallest blind holes measuring at just 4.5mm wide providing an opening for the front camera with minimal compromise in the viewing experience. With a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio2, the display makes watching any video and gaming an absolute joy. Additionally, HUAWEI Y7p has a fingerprint scanner at the back to provide another convenient and secure means for device unlock.

The back of HUAWEI Y7p is layered on top of a reflective layer to produce a futuristic glare effect. The mid-frame seamlessly connects the two sides, producing a streamlined, uni-body look that is both aesthetically pleasing and makes for a more comfortable grip.

The smartphone comes in classic Midnight Black and unique Aurora Blue colours. The Aurora Blue variant uses blue and green gradients to create a distinguishable and fashionable look.
HUAWEI Y7p offers a triple-card tray that includes two slots for Dual SIM support and one for storage expansion via MicroSD card of up to 512GB3.

    Strong performance

Running easy-to-use intelligent EMUI9.1 on Kirin 710F with an integrated octa-core processor, the HUAWEI Y7p delivers a smooth experience across productivity and entertainment apps. The latest HUAWEI Y Series device also includes system-level optimisations such as the Extendable Read-Only File System (EROFS) and Full Scene Acceleration technology for a better system, storage, and app performances.

The HUAWEI Y7p also comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage which can be expanded to 512GB with a micro SD card (sold separately).

With a large 4000mAh (typical value) battery and Huawei’s AI power-saving technology, the smartphone offers a reliable long battery life, ideal for those that are always on the go.

  • How to get & link UBA AfriCard or FAB Prepaid Card to PayPal in Ghana

How to get & link UBA AfriCard or FAB Prepaid Card to PayPal in Ghana

Ghana is blacklisted by PayPal and that’s why we go through a lot of steps to get a PayPal account.

However, the good thing is that you don’t need to go through a lot of stress to withdraw your hard-earned money that is in your PayPal account.

In fact, a lot of the people who will tell you it is difficult simply to want to take advantage of your quest to get your money fast and offer you very low rates for your money.

I have been withdrawing money from my PayPal account since late 2017 when I first had my UBA AfriCard.

Apart from that, it is now very easy to withdraw from PayPal because the First Atlantic Bank (FAB) Prepaid Card takes less than 5 minutes to get in any of their branches.

To withdraw your money from PayPal in Ghana, you need the following:

    1. UBA AfriCard / First Atlantic Bank Prepaid Card / Access Bank Prepaid
    2. PayPal Account (You can learn how to create one here)

Please note that you can link a wide variety of cards to your PayPal account but the three cards listed above are the only ones you can withdraw from.

How to get First Atlantic Bank Prepaid Card for PayPal in Ghana

Although we recommend using UBA AfriCard, you can also use the FAB Prepaid Card (which is easier to get) or the Access Bank Prepaid Card (same requirements as UBA AfriCard).

To get an FAB Prepaid Card you need to take your valid ID Card and a minimum deposit of GHS 20 to the nearest First Atlantic Bank branch.

They will walk you through the process at the bank and you should have your card in less than 30 minutes.

How to get a UBA AfriCard in Ghana

The UBA AfriCard is one of the best debit prepaid cards in Ghana and West Africa as a whole. It works with most ATMs, POS and online transactions.

I have personally used the card in more than 3 countries and it still works perfectly well. And this is the same card that I got from UBA Ghana.

When you walk to the UBA Bank branch for the AfriCard, you will be asked to provide the following details:

    • Tax Identification Number – TIN
    • Valid National ID
    • Initial Deposit – around GHS 50

Once you have them, here is how to get your UBA AfriCard instantly:

    1. Walk to the nearest UBA Branch
    2. Ask at the enquiries desk that you will want to get a UBA AfriCard
    3. You may be encouraged to open a bank account there but this is not really important
    4. When getting the card, deposit GHS 50 on it
    5. After that, the Bank will get you the card and give you instructions on how to use it.

Please note that the steps to get the UBA AfriCard is the same for getting a new Access Bank Prepaid Card.

How to add your UBA AfriCard (or any other card) to your PayPal Account

    1. Log in to Paypal using this link: paypal.com/ls by using your email and password.
    2. In the notification area, at the top right-hand corner. Click on it, You will be requested to link a Credit Card (Master Card/Visa Card).
    3. You will be directed to a page to input your card details, in that case, input your UBA Visa Card Details or the details of the particular card you are using (FAB or Access Bank).
    4. Next, Click on the Continue tab after entering your Card details
    5. When done, a small fee will be debited from your Card by Paypal like a Dollar or so, then sent back again to confirm the authenticity of the Card
    6. After that, a page will appear where you will be asked to enter a confirmation page to fully verify your account
    7. Now, check your mobile phone or email, a text message confirmation of the Paypal transaction is sent to the mobile number you used in obtaining your Visa Card
    8. Now you get a combination of numbers and words. The numbers in front of the word CODE in the combination is what you will input in the verification field
    9. After you have entered the code, your account is all set up to start receiving and sending money even while in Ghana

    Conclusion

If you need any help getting a UBA AfriCard or withdrawing your paypal funds here in Ghana, try to drop a question and we will get back to you on it.

  • TECNO Spark 5 Experience: After 1 week of use — Smooth, Sweet and Stable

TECNO Spark 5 Experience: After 1 week of use — Smooth, Sweet and Stable

It’s been a little over a week since we had a new TECNO Spark 5 from TECNO Ghana. We released the photos of the unboxing some days ago and we’ve had loads of questions coming in about actual usage.

    https://mfidie.com/tecno-spark-5-2020/

In all the time that the device has been used, the one thing I have enjoyed is holding it in my hands. It feels natural in the palm and I can do most things in one hand, although I am a 2 hands phone user, mostly.

I will like to speak about the silicon case again.

It’s like that one thing that looks like it doesn’t cost a lot but brings so much value to the phone. A lot of people who saw the phone in my hands have often asked what phone it was just because of a glance they had at the back.

That’s a whole lot of extrinsic value.

I used the rear camera much more and it performs quite well. I tried to take very upclose photos as well as some photos outdoor.

I did a few selfies (not sharing because I haven’t had a shave in all of this lockdown).

See some of the shots from below:

The four cameras at the rear of the Spark 5 are a Depth lens, a 13MP Primary Camera with F/1.8 aperture, a Macro lens and an AI lens.

Each one has unique functions. For example in the shots above, the rich colour tones of the photo taken at KNUST were optimised by the AI Camera.

In fact, the AI camera can detect a variety of scenes and optimise photos for them. This includes HDR and different scenes.

When it comes to the Operating System, this new version of HiOS was very stable for the time that I used the device.

There was minimal lag, even when playing Asphalt 8 on the phone. The game run smoothly and the screen was just enough to enjoy.

When it comes to the battery, it performed just as expected. On the days when I had more work to do and was just on social media, it lasted the whole day.

On the days where I was gaming heavily (more than 3 hours), I needed to charge up when I got back home – around 5pm.

All this while, the phone has been on WiFi.

So if you are really going to get this phone, you don’t need to worry about battery performance.

While writing this, I set up the screen lock and face unlock on the phone. They both worked so well.

However, for me, the sweetest thing is the fingerprint sensor at the rear of the phone.

Call me old school, but I find it so convenient. There are various lock options – the fingerprint, face unlock and basic pin/password lock.

You also have Google My Protect so should you lose your phone, you have a chance to use it to find out where it may be at.

RAM and Storage on our review unit was 2GB and 32GB respectively. After installing most of the apps I use on a daly basis, there was 730MB of RAM remaining.

I recommend using Google Photos to back up your photos regularly for free so that you can always have enough storage for use.

The SPARK 5 is available in all shops in Ghana at the recommended retail price of GHS 719.

If you are looking for a beautiful phone that offers performance worthy of it’s price and a screen big enough to give you full enjoyment, look no further.

  • Unboxing: TECNO Spark 5 — A pack of Beauty, Comfort & Status

Unboxing: TECNO Spark 5 — A pack of Beauty, Comfort & Status

The TECNO Spark 5 is a beautiful device from TECNO Ghana and it’s impressive both to hold, marvel at and to use.

We recently unboxed the device and we will like to share the photos from the unboxing as well as thoughts on the device.

First, let’s look at the specs of the Spark 5.

    • Display: 6.6″ Dot-In Screen
    • Front Camera: 8MP Front Camera with Dual Flash
    • Rear Camera: 4 Camera Setup – Depth lens + 13MP Primary Camera with F/1.8 aperture + Macro lens + AI lens
    • OS: Android™ 10 with HiOS 6
    • Network 4G LTE/3G/2G
    • Storage: 32 GB
    • RAM: 2 GB
    • Processor: Mediatek Helio A22 MT6761
    • Battery: 5000mAh
    • Card Slots: 2 nano sim cards + 1 micro SD (up to 128GB)
    • Other Features: Compass, Fingerprint Sensor, GPS, Proximity, Touchscreen, WiFi, Face Unlock 2.0
    • Colours: Ice Jadeite, Spark Orange, Vacation Blue and Misty Grey

    Now to the unboxing.

When you get the TECNO Spark 5, you are greeted with this very nice packaging. The packaging colours speaks to the impressive nature of the device, which we will see later on.

Wow before we look at individual components, let’s talk about everything in the box once you bring the components out.

Inside the box of the TECNO Spark 5, you get:

    • The TECNO Spark 5 Phone
    • A 13 month warrancy Card
    • A beautifully designed Silicon case
    • A rectangular head sim ejector
    • A Power Adaptar
    • A micro USB cable and
    • A 3.5mm earpiece

Our review copy from TECNO Ghana was in the Ice Jadeite colour, as you can see above.

The Device itself has a premium touch to it. The gradient colour makes it instantly recognisable and the vertically aligned quad-camera setup is appealing.

And about that fingerprint sensor, I love that it is at the rear. That way, by the time you get the device off the table or from your pocket, it is already unlocked.

At the bottom of the phone, there is the speaker grille, the USB port, the microphone and the much loved 3.5mm headphone jack. You don’t have to spend more for wireless accessories.

One of the things I love about the Spark 5’s design can be seen at the right side of the phone. Just below the volume buttons is the power button which has a distinctively orange colour.

I would like to highlight on the silicon case a bit. It has a very distinctive design pattern, that gives the device a very “tech feel”. Oh yeah, TECNO.

Holding the Spark 5 felt natural. It was easy to hold and use the device in one hand. The power button and the volume keys were also very reachable.

If you are looking at getting a new phone or upgrading your older model device, the TECNO Spark 5 is just what you need to consider.

NASCO Candy 7 Kids Tablet: Price, Specs, Features & Best Deals

If you are looking for the perfect gadget for your children during this lockdown and yet don’t want to spend too much, then the NASCO Candy 7 Kids Tablet might just be for you.

Almost all children across the country are still at home, with the Government saying that all schools should be closed down.

Kids, however, will have to continue studying. And what better way, than to introduce your children to technology that is safe at a young age?

NASCO has brought the Candy 7 kids tablet for all parents to give to their kids (so they can finally let go off the parents’ phones).

Features of the NASCO Candy 7 Kids Tablet

It is important to know that this tablet was made for kids.

The first feature I will like to talk about is the Parental Guidance feature on the tablet. This means that parents can restrict what their kids can watch and do on the tablet.

The internet can be a dangerous place for children, so the parental guidance feature makes a lot of sense. For all parents looking to buy internet accessible gadgets for your children, find out first if the gadgets have parental guidance.

Also, there is the 7-inch display on the device. This means the kids can enjoy a bigger, better experience when gaming on the Nasco Candy 7.

Also, watching videos or surfing the net with the tablet is probably the best experience you can settle for at it’s price range.

The tablet also comes with the old Android OS 6.0 Marshmallow. Although OS does not give total protection of your device (in relation to newer Android versions), it is enough for what the device is made for – entertainment and education for kids.
